  • Thank you for your interest in the High School Cosmetology program. In order to apply you must:

    • be a high school senior in the 26-27 school year
    • plan to attend at least a 2-period block (preference may be given to students who are able to attend multiple blocks)

    There will be an informational Parent & Student Open House on April 8th at 6:30pm in person or via Google Meet at the Brigham Campus in the conference room OR on April 15th at 6:30 pm ONLY via Google Meet. Meeting participation is strongly encouraged.

    Application Due Date: April 25, 2026 -- Submissions must be received and complete prior to midnight.

    To comply with the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the College is requesting permission to communicate certain information to your parent or guardian. By selecting “Yes” you are consenting to allow the College to communicate the following information to your parent or guardian (i.e., grades, attendance, conduct, counseling forms, etc.). Please note: FERPA allows schools to disclose educational records to school officials with legitimate educational interest and other schools to which the student is transferring (34 CFR § 99.31). Accordingly, the College communicates educational information to your home high school.

    To become a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Utah, you will neet to apply for licensure with the Utah Division of Professional Licensing. Minors are not subjected to background checks, however, be advised that anyone who has been convicted of a felony or any drug-related charges; has been involved as the abuser in any incident of verbal, physical, mental, or sexual abuse; or may pose a threat to themselves, clients, or to the public health, safety, or welfare because of any circumstances or conditions, should determine their eligibility status with the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Locate an Application for Criminal History Determination on https://dopl.utah.gov/cosmo/                 

    The Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing makes the final decision on the issue of a license to practice in the State of Utah.

  • REFERENCES

    List the names of the two professional people who will be completing your Reference Evaluation forms. References must be people who are now or who have been your employer, high school counselor, teacher, or community leader. They must have known you for at least six months and CANNOT be related to you. Two reference forms are required for your application to be considered. After the reference section has been filled out, a hyperlink to your selected references will be sent to them via email and text. Please make sure to inform references that they will be contacted by a representative at Bridgerland Technical College via email or text. Reference Evaluations must be received no later than SEVEN DAYS after application deadline.
