Immunization Verification
- TDAP (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) ( current within 7 years)
- MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) (2 series injection)
- Hepatitis B (3 series injection) - In accordance with providing documentation of current immunizations any prospective student with a hepatitis b series over three years old is asked to verify immunity through a titer test. A hepatitis B titer test, also known as a Hepatitis B IgG titer test, is a blood test that measures the level of hepatitis B surface antibodies (anti-HBs) in your blood. The test can determine if you are immune to the hepatitis B virus, which can be from vaccination or a previous infection. It can also evaluate the need for a hepatitis B vaccine or hepatitis B immunoglobulin after a needle prick.
In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) and in an effort to minimize risk to students and staff, each student must have documentation of current immunizations/vaccinations prior to acceptance into the certificate program. Immunizations/vaccinations may be waived with documentation of acceptable titer or written documentation from a physician of immunization risk.
